I'm having the same issue with Photoshop 22.0.1 on Windows 10 1909 and 2004. From time to time the workspace / canvas freezes, while all other panels remain responsive. When I save the file and re-open it, I can continue working.

I am using the GPU on both systems, a Nvidia MX150 in one and an RTX 2060 in the other one. All drivers are up to date.

Just to confirm, you have the 22.0.1 update installed?

I just realized today that when I disconnect GPU with Lightroom preferences box, I'm no longer facing problems !

Furthermore, I always had problems using LG Ultrafine 5K screen. Without GPU it seems OK.... Maybe slower ...

@demetry Do you have an 3rd party plug-ins installed? (DXO/Nik?)

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.
