Photoshop: When editing text, Save and Open commands aren't available

While a document is in editing for text input, and trying to Save the document or Open another document version (that may already be open on another tab), the Save and Open features are not working and Photoshop shows not prompt for this, thus the user may mistake which version is saved and which document is active on the tabs. Thanks.

Hi,
Thank you for bring this feedback.  May I ask what version of Photoshop you are using?  And can you try Preferences -> Reset All Warning Dialogs ?

Howdy Avatar,

What you're seeing is correct and normal.  When you are editing a layer of type, you are in a modal state -- that is, you don't have full access to the app, because it's working in a special state.  Same thing in Excel while you're editing a formula, for instance.  You cannot save a file from this state, so there's no chance of a problem with the version number.

Thanks,
David
