Photoshop: Use Graphics Processor not working

I'm having a variety of issues with the latest version of Photoshop for Windows: first, I can't seem to use graphical acceleration on my Nvidia card.

Next, when I try to use "content aware fill," it works okay, but my tools disappear.

If I try to select anything after this, the software crashes, and I can't do anything about it, because it doesn't even appear in Task Manager.

Howdy Jacob,

It is possible that newer versions of Photoshop might not work with older video cards due to incompatibilities.

When you say that your "tools disappear" after using content aware fill, what precisely happens?  This is news...

What OS are you running?  What specific version of Photoshop?  Have you attempted to reboot your computer and trash your PS preferences?

Thanks,
David

Make sure your graphics card is up to date by going directly to the NVIDIA website to download and install the latest driver.

Attached is a demonstration of the behavior, with the weird variation that it let me save my file this time.

David: latest version of Windows 10,   20.0.4 20190227.r.76 2019/02/27: 1205725  x64,  and yes and yes. I have also tried reinstalling Photoshop.

The drivers on my 1070 are up to date.
