Photoshop: Update to 21.0.1 confusion
Win ver 1909
I am confused....
I want to update to the new Photoshop (desktop)
Yesterday I thought I did, but I now see I only updated to 20.0.7.
So today I went to the Adobe Cloud App, did not see an offer of ver 21.0.1, (Screen shot #1) but found it by clicking on the 3 little dots next to "OPEN" (Screen shot #2)
However when I click on ver 21.0.1 to update, it starts to update what seems to be PhotoShop (Mobile) - the logo with the rounded corners. not the square corners. (Screen shot #3)
So I cancelled the update.
I am not interested in PS mobile, I only want the desktop version 21.0.1
Could someone please explain what I am doing wrong???
Thank you

I'm sorry for any confusion. We have updated the logo for v21.0.1 (desktop) to the same logo as the Ps Mobile app. So what you're seeing in screenshot #3 is the correct way to upgrade to Photoshop Desktop 21.0.1. We want to keep the logos between the desktop and mobile consistent. I hope this helps clear up any confusion may have had.
Sincerely,
Andrew

I am sure there is a logic to having the same logo for two different "apps", but I am not grasping it.
However I will go an update now in the same way I was, but won't cancel it this time.

OK I updated it. So now I have PS logo with rounded corners for desktop version and LR with square corners for Classic version.
The nomenclature within LR is bad enough, now there seems to be inconsistency between apps regarding logos.
Or maybe I am just plain still confused :-)

Happy to help :)
The Photoshop desktop and Photoshop mobile apps are actually the same code base. So with that in mind, we want our customers to understand that Photoshop desktop and Photoshop mobile are one in the same. I understand it can be confusing because Lightroom and Lightroom Classic have a different consistency of their logos for desktop and mobile, and I am sorry for this confusion. But rest assured we do listen to you guys, and you are not the first to be confused over this.
Sincrely,
Andrew

I hear what you are saying John, but the two different PhotoShop Apps seem to be treated differently than the LR Apps in regards to (subtle) differences in logos. (To my mind anyway :-)
Back to work....
