Photoshop: Text in layer mask

Wouldn't it be great to be able to add editable text to a Layer mask?

Or using a clipping mask.

Yes, Jeffrey beat me to it. By keeping it as a clipping group it makes it easier to have font changes over multiple layers or masks that you can still apply to the photo while keeping the text independent for a plethora of composite and layout reasons.

Here is a sample file if you are unfamiliar and want to play with it.

Thanks for your reply, but I did not ask for Clipping Layers. Now 'bout that. I would like to have a Layer mask containing editable text.

You are focusing on one facet that »Smart Layer Masks« would include anyway, so you may want to throw your support there.

Searching for 'Smart Layer Masks' doesn't bring me to a topic with that subject.  I can imagine what it means, and I like that. Smart Objects are the solution for everything. We can stop developing, and do everything in Smart Objects ;-).
But Smart Objects are not very good implemented yet. Especially when you want to update 1 instance - Ps changes all. (I know the workaround - but it is not very comfortable right now) I like to have both ;-) Smart Layer Masks and a possibility to add directly Editable Text in a Layer Mask.

Have you checked out the first link I posted?

Are you referring to Layer Comps?
