Photoshop: Spinning beachball with 3D Spherical Panorama Editing

When I am editing a spherical panorama TIFF sent from Lightroom to Photoshop, captured with my Theta Z1, I only seem to get a certain number of clone sample clicks and paint overs before Photoshop jams up with some sort of memory glitch.  I am seeing the MacOS Mojave spinning beachball and it can take 3 or 4 minutes before it responds to my desires again, and then only one click before it happens again.  This is surely a bug as it is making my workflow a real pain if I need to do serious cloning work at the nadir.  I am using an iMac 27-inch with 32Gb of RAM. Activity Monitor tells me I still have 22Gb of unused memory...

Hi Steve,
What version of Photoshop are you using?  The latest is version 21.0.2.

Hi Andrew, I am using the latest version 21.0.2. I have a paid subscription with auto updates.  It seems to me like a memory related issue as the longer I use it to do cloning the worse it gets. For example, removing a tripod when placed over a complex ground such as intricate paving patterns. An image with simple cloning does not invoke the problem.  I wonder whether the developing engineers tested with extreme cases of cloning?  Lightroom has had a similar look and feel issue with spot removal, but I do understand the totally different way Lightroom works with non-destructive editing, and hence Photoshop is the way to deal with such corrections, and now that has hassles as well for me :(

Hi Steve,
It doesn't sound likely that it's memory issue.  If you could email me (sender@adobe.com) the TIFF file you're using, I can have our team look into this further.

Sincerely,
Andrew

Hi Stefan,
Are you saying it's broken in Photoshop 2020 version 21.0.2?
