Photoshop: Rename file from menu

Sometime you mistype when you save file. Sometimes you need just to change the file name.

Currently you have to: Save file, close it, loose all undos, go to system file manager, rename file, open it back.

We just need a menu point File>Rename file which will allow us to change the name in one click.

Strange it was not implemented yet!

You can just choose save as again, click the file and it renames it. Or just rename it in Explorer. takes maybe 2 seconds.

Yup. Save-as, use the save-as popup dialog to rename the file like you would in the regular finder/explorer, then save-as over that. You won't have to close or lose history.

My issue is that I have 2 PDF scans opened as 100+ windows and do not want to save-as each page as a separate file, but I need the names changed so I know which page is which when I reorder them during batch save - in as little clicks as possible. Being able to right-click rename the window tab titles and have Photoshop use those titles in its batch processing would be a far better solution.

Well, three years ago this was suggested, and three people have voted for it in those three years. Draw your own conclusion.

No need to be sarcastic to strangers friend, a lot of people won't bother to search, find this post, log in, comment, etc. Doesn't mean the issue or use case shouldn't be recorded.

Not a most deserved function, but a thing that makes yout workflow more consistent. Such small things in fact affect your productivity -- like being able to close dialog window with Esc. Modern Photoshop UI lacks it also.
