Implemented

Photoshop: Realtime Brush cursor rotation for Wacom Intuos Art pen.

Please support Brush rotation ghosting for Wacom Intuos Art Pen. It's important to see the brush ghost Rotate realtime on screen. If it doesn't the rotation dynamic is useless.

Hi SgtFrog,

just wanted to check if you meant realtime brush cursor update WHILE painting?

i.e. not when cursor is hovering but when in the middle of stroke

My cursor doesn't update even when i rotate brush during a stroke, only before i make a stroke

THey fixed this issue already. Ever since upgrading to cs6 I can now see realtime pen rotation with the Art pen.. which is awesome!

As for your problem. Are you using the wacom pen that came with your tablet/ cintiq? If so, thats the problem. You need to purchase the a different pen that recognizes barrel rotation... You need The wacom art pen if you want to be able to rotate you brush cursor in photoshop.

If you have the wacom Art pen already, I'm not sure what the problem is =(. Maybe try installing/reinstalling the newest wacom drivers and upgrading/ reinstalling photoshop. If that doesnt help You should start a new thread here stating your problem and maybe talk to Wacom aswell..

good luck.

Hi SgtFrog,

I'm using the Art Pen with barrel rotation with latest wacom driver and CS6.

My problem is that the ghost cursor does not update when I'm in the middle of a stroke, it does however reflects rotation when stylus is hovering. (i.e. not in contact with tablet). The brush stroke itself reflects the rotation with paint, however the CURSOR does not update while painting half way

can you please confirm that your cursor updates realtime in middle of stroke?
you're the first case I hear that its working

Gotcha...

Yeah, You're right. The cursor does not update realtime in the middle of a stroke.... THe brush itself does rotate but you dont see it when the pen is touching the tablet.

Honestly, this does not bother me. would be nice if it did BUT I dont rotate my brush as i'm "painting" . I usually just rotate when the pen is off the tablet... I'm just happy the real time rotation works when the pen is above the tablet. =p.

Perhaps adobe will fix this in a future update. You might want to start a new thread for this issue .

Unfortunately it's not fixed neither in CS6 nor in CC

Right now, trying to update while painting causes significant painting slowdowns, and some redraw issues. The OS cursor update routines gave us some performance problems - and we're still trying to work out alternatives to using the OS cursor routines, or get the performance problems fixed in the OS.
It's good enough while not painting, but ugly while painting.

Photoshop CC 2018 still does not appear to support ghost rotation updates during a stroke, which would be great with the narrower Wacom Art Pen now available.  Please give this another shot --- hopefully modern OSes five plus years on will be more friendly to these cursor updates.  :)

Also, this is hopeful -- it looks like Painter 2018 is able to update the brush ghost including rotation during a stroke.
