Photoshop: PS CC: Error message "Could not save because write access was not
granted"
"Could not save "blah blah.psd" because write access was not granted".
almost every time i try to save something after i've already "saved as" i have to re-save as another name because this error message pops up. WOW that sucks! please help!
IMHO the problem is caused by the SMB protocol, then in fact there are some ”strange process” opened by the Finder.
I changed the server protocol for AFP and everything works well.
In my case I changed shared folder’s settings in Server app ver. 4.1.5, but this works is mac os x System Preferences as well.
The eventual disadvantage – there is no connection of PCs to the server.
The server could offer multiple connection protocols, you only need to specify the protocol you wish to use on the client side (ie: afp://prace), so MacOS and Windows can connect simultaneously.
And while the Photoshop team has been attempting to work around the filesharing/fileserver related bugs in MacOS, we are continuing to work with Apple to get those bugs fixed in MacOS.
One solution is to turn off Image Previews under "File Handling" in Photoshop Preferences. Another solution is to make sure that the file is not selected in Finder while you're trying to save.
I tried the turning off never save preview option and it didn't work but what i discover that DOES WORK is if you have the particular finder window open from where you grabbed that photoshop file you can't save over until that finder window is closed... another way is to turn off show icon preview turn off. Thanks Joshua. You hit the mark!
