Photoshop: Per layer notes

Photoshop: I would like the ability to add notes to individual layers, groups/folders, and actions. This would help me to remember why I did certain things and/or communicate ideas to other people on my team.

If stringent Layer naming-discipline, a non-destructive workflow and the existing Note Tool are insufficient you can use the MetaData to store information with Layers.
I would not consider it very convenient, but it’s possible ...

Thank you very much Christoph. I *do* use the Notes tool but, again, I would like much more fine-grained control. It would be nice if the layer thumbnail indicated that a given layer had an attached note (like the smart object icon).

What I like doing is adding a URL to a tutorial (web page, video, etc.) that explains a technique I used in a layer, or even an entire folder, etc.

This should be rather straightforward to implement and wouldn't get in the way of existing workflows (you won't see if you don't use it).

I fully support this feature request! I would like to add notes per layer.

It's not convenient to put notes into the layer name or as text layers.

And anohter 6 monts:
i think this will be great for collaboration. If a person knows why something is done like so from the previous editor of the file, this can solve a lot of miscommunication issues.
