Photoshop - opening page - open many files on the same time?

Being an artist and a Photoshop user since 1990 I love images BUT not so much text...

So when the new opening page with files in the form of small thumnails appeared I was very happy. Now I could see directly what I had been working with recently and have a choise of what pictures to continue to work with. 

But there is one thing I am missing. I would like to be able to have a choise of many images and then open them up all at once

So is it possible to have a choice of more than one image from the thumbnails of the new opening page, to open at the same time?

PS and if so I would also be very happy if I could change the size of the thumnails so I really can see how my work evolve over time (plus more thumnails maximum today is 100) DS
