Photoshop: Not Responding to 'Save' or 'Save As'

I have been working on a concept design for a client, however when I went to click 'Save As' there was no response from the software - nothing happened. My document is under 2GB so I'm sure size is not the issue. I really can't afford to lose this document so I don't want to shut down Photoshop and restart. Please, does anyone have a solution?

Can you create a new document within photoshop?
If that ist possible create a new document with exact the same size and copy all layers from the first one to that one.
You can do this with drag and drop.

Yes, I have tried this also. Unfortunately, none of the documents I open in tabs are able to be saved.

This happen to me when I have no space on my disk.

You can try to find where are backup files of Photoshop (they are removed if Photoshop has proper quit)

Thanks for that suggestion. For some reason, I have never been able to locate these backup files in the past, but I'll definitely give it a go.

Maybe too late, but if you make a smart object from all the layers in your document, then open that smart object, the "layers.psb" or whatever file gets saved in your temp directory... or maybe scratch disk area? Anyway, if you are in "tabbed" view mode, you can right-click the tab with the name and "Show in Explorer (Finder)" to get at that temporary file and copy it somewhere safe.

Thanks heaps,  I tried it and it worked! I assume I'm now fine to quit and open this file, and everything from the original document will be in it?

So long as that file is somewhere safe and not in the temp directory, you are good to go. Relieved that you were able to rescue it!

FILE/EXPORT/EXPORT AS can save your work but only the export format it is saved, the whole project file is not saving either. My disk is definitely not full, is that a bug from photoshop ?
