Photoshop: Move Tool - Toggle auto select shortcut changed

Hello. The changed shortcuts to toggle the autoselection of layers with the move tool selected is highly frustrating to me. I used to have a great workflow with auto select turned on and used cmd to drag elements that were either off-canvas or too small / too transparent to grab them. Now it seems to be inverted: I need to turn auto select off to toggle with cmd. When it is turned on, cmd seems to toggle now between layer and group auto selection.
I can't understand why this was changed or is at least not something I can switch between in the preferences.

Thanks you very much for looking into this.

Agree — this is EXTREMELY frustrating. Please PLEASE turn it back to the way it was before the update or at least give me a way to toggle this on or off or set a preference for what the cmd key does with the move tool. I have years of muscle memory on this work flow and it's totally messed it up with this seemingly small update.

Just want to chip in that I find this change an utter annoyance too. It really is a mayor slowdown to my workflow.

Hi, I don't know, just become to normal last night, I don't made any upgrade or something like that. Only restart the apps. Good luck!

Nope. Didn't work for me. This is sooo annoying. I'm visiting this site more often than facebook. Even though I receive emails...

Sorry, I don't know what happened... I already installed Yosemite and still working like always. It was just for a single day the chaos.

Reinstalled. Didn't work for me. Can you guys at Adobe at least give us a perspective in terms of timing?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Ctrl + Left Click not work on PHOTOSHOP 2014.2.

this is weird... the latest photoshop cc 2014.2 seem to have many manjor bug and needed to fix immediately..

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled PHOTOSHOP CC 2014.2: Auto-Select CMD key problems.

If 'auto-select' is checked, the 'cmd' button toggles 'layer' and 'group' options in auto-select for move tool.

How to reproduce error:

I'm using auto-select: 'layer', and I select a layer using move tool.
I hold down 'cmd' and drag. In the past this allows me to move the layer - however ..
Holding down 'cmd' now toggles the auto-select mode - and changes to 'group'
Now as I'm dragging, it now drags the entire group, not the individual layer.

This is absolutely driving me crazy. It breaks a very good workflow I had for years. Adobe PS please bring this behavior back.

There was a Photoshop update just now but it didn't fix this issue. Do we know when this feature will come back or should we just start getting used to the fact that it isn't there?

Yea I tried to uninstall and reinstall CC 2014 and I noticed that the auto-select has become a toggle icon. IMO, that is a pretty useless update LOL. Please, please fix this and bring back the command key behavior!!
