Photoshop: legacy channel shortcuts throughout the application

I use legacy channel options on always. i wondered why curves and hue/sat would still keep a shortcut for those channels as option-1, 2, etc? if legacy channels map shortcuts to command 1, 2, 3 - it would make sense to me that command 1, 2, 3 would also work in curves and hue/sat instead of option 1,2,3, etc. not sure why option was chosen to replace command but i think if the user want to use legacy channel shortcuts - as i think most users do - i think they would also expect that the same shortcuts would work in curves adjustment layers.

Remember that in CS5 when you make adjustment layers you don't work with separate dialog boxes anymore. This means that you cannot use Cmd/Ctrl+123 to switch between the channels in the Adjustments panel version of Curves because that would change between the channels of the image itself, hence the need for Alt/Opt+123.

When working with Image->Adjustments->Curves the old commands still work just fine because you're in a separate dialog box

i just rather have the option to have the modal dialogue boxes instead of the adjustment panel. why cant users choose either panel or modal adjustments?

That should be submitted as a different request.
