Photoshop: Icon file thumbnail always shows top pixel layer and not document preview

Files in the Finder don't show the right thumbnail. Even with the save image preview always and thumbnail checked on the File Handling preference. Using PS 21.2 but this behavior is been happening for a while.

PS 21.2
MacOS 10.15.5

@andre can you post a screen shot of what you're seeing

Sure thing. On the two marked files the one on the bottom has a gray dodge and burn layer as the top layer, the one on the top row has a grain layer as a top layer. The other two have a flattened layer as the top layer. Turning save image preview always and thumbnail doesn't make a difference.

Hi Andre, could you post one of the pair of files? I'm not able to reproduce with the files I am saving.

So I noticed a weird behavior while saving the file to send you. It shows with the wrong thumbnail on the folder but with the right thumbnail on the desktop...

That is strange. Is the fold where it's grey located on a different drive or server?

Would be possible to get a copy of the affected PSD file?

The folder is in the same HD, it's a folder on the desktop of the computer. As you can see from the video, if I drag it into the desktop itself the thumbnail is fine, if I drag it back to the folder inside the desktop, it turns weird. Here is the file:

Hi Andre, I wasn't able to reproduce. I'm wondering if your https://www.jgoode.com/easy-fix-for-mac-finder-preview-thumbnails-not-displaying/ com.apple.finder.plist is corrupted

Tried the method on the link, didn't work. Now none of the preview thumbnails show up, only the blue Ps logo thumbnail... :-(

Affichez le Finder, et un ctrl+clic et choisir Utiliser un aperçu comme icône.

Show Finder, and a ctrl click and choose Use an outline as icon.

It's been on the whole time. Doesn't make a difference on this matter. Turning it on or off, it doesn't show the thumbnail preview.
