Doesn't need answer

Photoshop: I would really use the ability to crop and export multiple images while retaining layers

I would really use the ability to crop and export multiple images while retaining layers. There are times where I'd like to retain layers in my files but need to apply a consistent crop (which is an awesome feature in Lightroom) but I have not found a way to export -  or save them as - a cropped version while retaining the layers. If anyone has a workaround that'd be great!

If you want to preserve the layer data but have the canvas size smaller, you can un-check the  "Delete Cropped Pixels" option in the crop tool options at the top of the window.

If you want the canvas to remain the same, but crop to different sizes on export, you can work-around by using the "Asset Generator" plugin. It's a bit more technical, but it also allows you to make a sort of pre-made template you can just swap the image into.

You would  nest the image inside groups with vector or pixel masks at the crop size you wanted, smallest crop top level, getting larger the deeper you went in the groups. Then name each group with  myName_web.png or myName_02.jpg and go to File-> Generator-> Asset Generator.

Just to clarify, it's LIGHTROOM you're wanting to export from? Or save from Photoshop?

YES, I want to export from Lightroom. I understand pretty much all of the options in Photoshop. My challenge comes when trying to crop multiple images in a series and keep the crop consistent from image to image, Lightroom works really well UNLESS you want to retain layers etc.

I just realized this is probably in the wrong thread but I can repost in the Lightroom thread if needed

I am confused now... Do you want to end up with multiple psd files that all have the same layers, but are cropped to different sizes? Or do you want one PSD file that exports different cropped flattened files?  Or a giant PSD that has artboards for different aspect ratios?

What is the ultimate purpose you are trying to achieve? A handoff to a vendor where they can choose a different crop to edit certain layers on? Or the ability to enable and disable certain layers on different crops?

I've reposted this question/request to the Lightroom Classic CC forum. Sorry for the confusion
