Can I convert a pdf file to jpg or jpeg with Photoshop. I was told I could. Do I need to get an upgrade to do this?
thanks

Open the JPEG file, Save As and select PDF for the format.

No upgrade needed.

(oops, yeah, I typed it backward)

Or Vice Versa:

File>Open... and select the PDF file. Choose the page(s) you want to open
File>Save As... and select JPEG for the format.

The only choice I get when I use this info is 'save as text'. That's not I want. What I need to do is convert a PDF to a JPEG.

Photoshop doesn't even have a "save as text" choice. Which application are you using?

The instructions given above work in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements.

When I click on file and save as, jpeg is not a choice I have. Maybe it's this stupid vista operating system on my computer. Would it help if I had windows XP?

Vista should work just fine - the file format choices are going to be the same regardless of OS version or platform.

Again: which application are you using? What you are describing does not sound like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.

The only time JPEG would not be available as a format when saving is when the document is 16 or 32 bit/channel, or in a color mode that LAB doesn't support.

Opening a PDF, and saving it as a JPEG file should be just as simple as we said above.

My daily tasks requires me to convert multiple range of files i.e. pdf, png, gif, jpeg, cmyk etc. Convert anything into anything, with 1 click does it for me in style. (Note: My demands are geared towards quality and time)

I used to convert PDF to JPEG image with Acethinker PDF Converter Lite, it's free and it works pretty well for me. Well worth a try.
