Have you tried other fonts with the same font type to see if it's more than just the one font? Fonts are notoriously delicate and easily cause trouble for apps. Sometimes an uninstall and fresh install from the original source (original zip file, the site if you can download fresh) clears up problems, but sometimes fonts come with problems.
On a Mac, you can use Font Book to right-click on the font and ask Font Book to validate it. If it finds a problem, it will let you know what it is and how serious it is. If you're on Windows, I'm afraid I don't know what the OS provides, but I suspect it does provide some way of checking the integrity of an installed font.

As you noticed, this appears to be a bug in the font itself. It is worse on Mac than Windows (can't even use the font) and Font Book notes several "minor" errors which affect both faux bold and faux italics.
The reason it might have worked earlier is because in later versions, we're a little more thorough and strict about identifying and avoiding improperly constructed fonts. If this happens with another font in the future, let us know, but I would also recommend reaching out to the font foundary.
Thanks,
David
