Photoshop: CS5 crashes when attempting to print.

CS5 crashes when attempting to print a cropped psd. Have printed using CS5 recently on the same computer which currently has Window XP and 3.37 Gbytes of RAM. Running CS5 with no other applications concurrently except the Bridge. Does not matter which printer I select ... crash occurs when I click on the File -> Print. Am I being punished for some sort of license problem? So far as I know all is OK in that area but maybe something is broken. Sucessfully printed using CS4 on same computer. I kept the install as a backfall and now am glad I did but am not happy to see CS5 become useless. For what it's worth, the original photo wasshot raw with Nikon D700, converted to DNG by the bridge and to a PSD by CS5, however It does not matter what photo I open. It still crashes when I attempt to print.

Do you have the latest updates for Photoshop installed?

All updates are installed. I recently also installed updates to NIK filters. I am wondering if that installation fouled something up. I noted that when i launch CS5 from the Bridge I get the print crash but when i launch CS5 by itself I don't get the print crash. Not sure what that is telling me but it's a clue.

I just heard from a friend that NIK filters are notorious for crashing CS5. For some reason conversion to a jpg makes printing possible even when I launch CS5 from the bridge.

You could try disabling those plug-ins to see if that's the cause.

Troubleshoot plug-ins (Photoshop CS5 and CS4)

I'd also make sure that Photoshop is up-to-date
