Photoshop CS4: Fails to install on Windows (Case Number: ADB-4946384-Z7F4)

Uninstall the application or entire Creative Suite package. To uninstall on Windows, use the Add Or Remove Programs feature in Windows. 
To uninstall on Mac OS, navigate to an application folder (for example, /Application/Adobe Photoshop CS4). Then double-click the Uninstall shortcut 
(for example Uninstall Adobe Photoshop CS4).

SUCCESS

Important: Before you uninstall the software, make sure that you have the installation media to reinstall it. Replacement media isn’t available for previous versions of Adobe software.
Delete the following folders: 

Windows: 

/Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Adobe PCD

/Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/caps

/Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/backup

ALL FILES FOUND IN /Program Files(x86)/ only
ALL DELETED

Reinstall your application or Creative Suite package, and enter the serial number from your purchased product.

Downloaded ADBEPHSPCS4_LS1.7z (833,849 KB)
Downloaded ADBEPHSPCS4_LS1 (1.2 KB)
Double clicked ADBEPHSPCS4_LS1
Files extracted to C:\Users\rober\Desktop\Adobe CS4\Photoshop
Executed C:\Users\rober\Desktop\Adobe CS4\Photoshop\Adobe CS4\setup.exe

When Adobe Photoshop CS4 is launched;

LICENSE EXPIRED
LICENSE FOR THIS PRODUCT HAS EXPIRED

IF NEEDED, EMAIL ME FOR THE SERIAL NUMBER USED

Hi Bob, do you need assistance with activation of CS4 after doing a reinstall?  Where was your license purchase from?  The last part of your post that reads, "IF NEEDED, EMAIL ME FOR THE SERIAL NUMBER USED" isn't something that the Adobe Software Manager would display.  Do you have an IT person who maintains your computer for you that would have your CS4 serial number?

license was supplied by adobe support.  they remotely tried the install which failed for the same reason. Ratnam V Mohan Kumar was the remote installer from adobe.

What OS/version are you installing on?

I tried all the windows solutions, chat support also logged on remotely and tried the cs4 install.  It also failed for the same reason.  Ratnam V Mohan Kumar was the remote installer from adobe.

Windows 10, my windows 7 machine died and hp would only image windows 10 on my new machine

On Friday I was told by adobe support would disable my cs4 serial number and I would be supplied another.  Adobe did not follow through.

I have been working with support for over two weeks and still do not have a workable photoshop.  I've used the cs4 product for over 10 years however Adobe has not demonstrated any ability to solve this problem technically or offer any alternatives.

I'm looking under your account and it looks like they cancelled a serial # ending in 1998 and replaced it with one ending in 3221

Can you confirm which one you're using?

Also, CS4 is super old was not designed to be installed on Windows 10 nor is it supported on Windows 10. (was designed to run on XP and Vista)

I'm getting ready to uninstall Photoshop. "make sure that you have the installation media to reinstall it" I don't know what that is. The subdirectories listed don't exist on my PC. This upgrade of Photoshop it is just acting totally 'different' and crashed. The worst is how slow it is, it wasn't before. I cannot access any of the filters through the 'Gallery'.  The drop down for the brushes takes twenty seconds. Before it was a second or two, at the click. I deleted half of the brushes I was using and that did decrease the time, but that isn't right. When using the 'move' tool, the 'Auto-Select' tool keeps getting selected. Let's not forget 'copy and paste'. . . now, that is not working; it pastes what I selected before. I have re-set the "system info" several times. Anytime I have made a change to a preference I have closed PS and started over. I put the 'System Info' into a file I can actually look at and everything looks correct. The memory and cards have not been an issue and are not now. And that is all I know is 'broken' because I haven't been able to use the product. 

If I'm in the wrong place, tell me where to go. Thank you, really!
