Photoshop CS 5,1 lost serial number

I'm no dinosaure, but I'm perfectly happy with Photoshop CS 5.1 on my High Sierra MacPro. So much I'd like to install it on a second MacPro. The problem is I lost the CS 5.1 box, with it the serial number. My question : can you locate me in some «old» archives where you could find my serial number and sent it to me ? Thank you .

If you are in the system and haven't changed your account, your serial number should be there in your account.  On my account (Creative Cloud) it's under Plans and Products. Customer Service could probably help you out if you can't figure out how to log into your account and find it. I lost about a decade of purchases when Customer Service tried to merge my accounts into the one new one of the type they wanted, and oops.<G> But I do see CS5 there with my serial number. So as long as your account is still there, you should be just fine, and be able to retrieve it yourself. Let us know if you have a problem neither you nor Customer Service (if you have to deal with them) can resolve and someone from Adobe here will try to help you out.

Thanks for the answer. I went in my account and the holy number was not there. So I guess it solves my case.

I wouldn't give up so easily. I'd still go to Customer Service. They may have your account. Is it possible it was under another email address or name? That was a long time ago, and unless you did what I attempted to do, which was to have Customer Service merge my accounts, it may still be there.

And even if not listed, it's also still possible that Customer Service has some record. You did have to activate it, and you've got it there on your other computer, so it must be possible somehow to retrieve it, I'd think. Maybe by letting them take over and find the super duper secret serial number somewhere in that other system. Whatever it takes, you're going to want to have it in case you need it for the computer it's currently running on.

Hi Nelson, I looked in our backend and it looks like you make have a different adobe ID under a different email address. (gmail.com)

There is a Master Collection CS 5.5. under that account.

I have a problem reinstalling my CS5 on my replacement hard drive - my original hard drive crashed. I was told that Adobe no longer supports installation services for CS5. IMO, not good PR on their part. Obviously I am very unhappy with Adobe. I shall not buy another one of their products...

Hi Clifford, We do not offer 1:1 phone support for installation, but serial #s and activation are supported. What is your specific problem?

My hard drive crashed.  I had a new one installed, downloaded my CS5 upgrade and got a pop-up screen telling me that I could get only a 30 day trial.  I went online with Adobe's chat site and was told that Adobe no longer supported CS5 installation as of that morning!  I needed to buy a new PS product or lease one.  I was crestfallen.  I don't have that kind of money - 73 years old, disabled and on a fixed income.  Needless to say I am very unhappy with Adobe after nearly 20 years of using Photoshop and getting such news.

Apparently, while my serial # is valid the software cannot find a previous edition on my new hard drive, and won't allow anything more than a 30 day "trial".  Phooey!!!

An old Comcast email address?  Yup, that's probably me.  If you can help me to get my CS5 up and running, I would really appreciate it.  I am still in shock over the way "Adobe India chat" dumped me...

Jeff, I had this serial number all along.  That is not the issue.  The issue is that I get a screen which states that what I can get is only a 30-day free trial, and then I have to buy a new copy.  I know that there is an over-ride around this if one has the legal serial number, which I do.  "Adobe India Chat" told me that they could not give me the installation over-ride code number as Adobe had just stopped installation support for CS5 that very morning.  That was so frustrating!!!

I do not know if I am doing something wrong when I try to install and gain access to the CS5 software which I paid for legally, or if Adobe is playing hardball, by dropping installation support and trying to force all of us CS5 owners into upgrading to something that many of us do not need or want or can afford. 

I would really like to have my CS5 back.  It is becoming very tempting to spend $20 on a copy with no support online as advertised on several sites as I am getting little or no support here.  20 years and out, eh?

Can you help me?  Please?
