Photoshop: Crop function now crops everything, no matter where crop lines are set

Photoshop CS4 extended. Mark crop lines, but when click Image/Crop, deletes entire image. Doesn't matter where crop lines are set. Doesn't matter which layer I'm in, deletes all images in all layers.

I'm not sure how you are creating the "crop lines" Alan, can you explain further please.
I have always just used the marquee tool to select an area when using the Image/Crop command. Other wise the Crop tool.

Check the options you set in the crop tool options bar. Most likely you set it to 1 pixel target or something similar...

Yes, Chris, it was set to 1 px! Damn Wascal Wabbit! He loves to push buttons on my keyboard when I'm not looking.

What is the standard setting?

Ok, got it, just deleted settings. Got to keep my eye on the bunny! Wonder what other surprises he's got for me.
