Just to know what you're asking for—are you saying you want tool icons to be more like Affinity—offer a colored version? You're not saying you want the panels (background that matches your brightness choice) to be different colors, right?
Am not familiar with Affinity. Am wishing for each tool in photoshop/ illustrator/ indesign too! -to have the ability to be an actual color, not just light or dark grey like the rest of the interface. Have attached a quick example of what I am thinking. Thanks for listening!
All feature work we do has to compete for time in a limited pool of engineering resources. So having a good user story explaining the value of a feature is really helpful to making it happen. Would you mind sharing with us how allowing the tools to have overlay colors would enhance your workflow or experience, so that we can best prioritize your request?
Sure David. I realize this would be a major change. I do graphics full time, however, because of a bit of nerve damage, I tend to use the mouse to grab my tools rather than the keyboard commands. Because of that, I find that my eyes now have to work rather hard to select a particular tool, since they are all just white on grey currently. So having a way to discern the tools better visually would make life much easier for those of us who use eyes/mouse to select things often. Hope that explains it better.
