Photoshop: Clone stamp tool (and brush) acting funny

Ever since updating to Photoshop CC 20.0.2 I've been noticing this problem. It becomes specially visible when using the stamp tool. Whenever I do the alt+click - stroke fast enough the stroke gets all messed up. It draws a line from top to bottom instead of the intended direction whatever it may be. If it happens when I'm holding the stroke for longer the problem shows by not doing anything and the source sign, the cross won't move at all while I'm painting.

Sometimes it will happen with the brush. Some strokes won't work at all, randomly.

I'm using an intuous wacom tablet. Drivers are up to date.

I still keep a copy of photoshop cc 2015 installed in my computer. Mac os X 10.14.2 by the way. And the problem doesn't happen in photoshop cc 2015. Anybody else has encountered this issue?? Thanks.

Tried resetting photoshop preferences. Seemed to work at first, but no, the problem still occurs.

I have been trying to reproduce the problem with the brush tool. It happens when you change the brush size holding ctrl+option and dragging the pen. When you do that and start drawing right away it tends to mess up. If you wait a split second it works fine. So it seems like lag issues.

I seem to be able to reproduce the issue on Adobe Photoshop 21.0.2 on Mac OS 10.15.1 (at least intermittently with the Rulers visible).

Photoshop 21.0.3 on Mac OS 10.15.2 with an Intuos4 XL provides a reproducible Brush Tool misbehaviour for me.
After zooming in the first stroke is consistently nonsensical, the starting position seems to fit but from then on it seems nonsensical.

I have been trying to upload a gif of a screen recording to illustrate but strangely it just won’t work.
