Photoshop CC2014 is faster then CS6? In overall, 18% faster.
Recently, I have manage to test opening the same amount of raw images, run some complex scripts, and batch save them all to multiple copies/destinations using another complex script workflow.
I did it using CS6 (64bit) and CC2014 using the same computer (PC i7 64bit) and the results were on average:
CC 2014 is 18% faster then CS6 (64bit).
1. According to Adobe what is the main reason?
2. This performance tends to decline during several hours of intensive work (using 5000 images in 8 hours) in both CS6/CC2014. Any advice to keep performance high?

2. Do you hide all the panels so just your document window is visible when running your scripts? That can increase performance.

Its a must have.
I instruct all team members to avoid listen to music using PCs, browsing during production or using other apps.
One thing that helps a lot is to run inner system 'Disk Cleanup' app and restart photoshop at the middle of the day.
All PCs are using 8Gb RAM and by script I make sure that 60% is allocated to photoshop only.
Many times the lack of speed, is about non-adobe issues (windows updates, security issues, etc) but other times, I can't just explain it.
We will increase production starting the end of December and the peak will be end of January, February, March and start of May. If you want, you can use us to test CC2014 under the pressure of high production performance under very intensive work.

w/ panels: 9.939 seconds
no panels: 10.918 seconds
w/ panels: 10.128 seconds
no panels: 9.84 seconds
w/ panels: 8.52 seconds
I don't think that the presence of panels makes any substantial difference.
