Photoshop CC: Photomerge running slow
I wan't to report a BUG. Setting "Cache tile size" from 4 > 3,2,1 makes Photomerge slow as @£€$.. Just by setting it to 3 will decrease Photomerge's performance by several hundres %. This is a $7 grand computer that chew RAW's like its JPEGS, so I can't say the computer should have issues with increasing this setting just slightly. BTW. This is in Photoshop CC. Photoshop CS6 doesn't have the issue at this workstation.

Also, the cache tile settings and image pyramid settings have not changed in Photoshop CC, or Photoshop CS6.
Could you provide a better description of the slowdown you are seeing?

Thats strange, cause I've got CC and CS6 installed and its pretty different. CC is several minutes slower than CS6 in Photomerge(Align) when both apps have "Cache levels=2". When I change to standard settings then CC = CS6 in terms of speed.
Photoshop CC slows down, almost freezing when reaching "aligning images" in the Photomerge function. Happends at "Cache level 3,2,1" (with/without image blending). Its just seconds in CS6, even with settings like "Cache level 1".
I also deleted my preferences file and stuff to eliminate "poor file", I've done anything by now :-P I've just got down to the single setting that cause my problem, thats all..
Can anyone else try the difference in PS CC with cache level 4 vs 2? I think it took a minute to process 20x30MB RAW's in PS CS6 with all "cache levels". In PS CC it took a minute in "level 4", and it never finished at level 3,2,1 since it took like 15mins just to get to 5% or something like that.. Here's the setting btw.. Excuse my poor English, both tired and Norwegian.. :-P

I did a lot of photomerge since I got CC but since I installed "levelup" photomerge running very very slow when it tries to align.
i had the cache level at 1.
Now I changed the cache level to 4 and it's ok !
Thank you Aleksander !

I belive this is a software bug in Adobe. Comparing PS CCx64 and PS CS6x64 with identical cache level (2), history states (50) and tile size (1024) gave me a huge difference in speed. PS CS6x64 finished 15x 25Mpix in 5minutes, PS CCx64 finished in 1.5hrs(sometimes it crashed). Ive tried on 2 different workstations, same issue.
Anyone who can write better English than me, please send a bugreport to adobe if they don't see this thread. There have been no changes to photomerge since this topic started, so they have done nothing to this bug yet as far as I know.
Please state what OS/GPU/CPU you have since that could make or break the issue.
Issues occurs with these computers. Same identical issue, files and PS CCx64 vs PS CS6x64.
