Photoshop CC: Library "can't connect to server"

I installed Photoshop through Creative Cloud. The CC app is connecting fine and I am able to download items into my library folder on my mac through the CC app but photoshop (and illustrator) both can't connect to the server which is displayed by the broken icon in the library panel https://www.evernote.com/shard/s297/s... The library items u see in this image are the ones I created within Photoshop and I can't sync them to CC server. My coworkers on the same exact network are connecting fine but I can't figure out why my CC apps (PSD and AI) are not connecting to the CC server. Your help is appreciated.

Hi Maria,

Another user reported that resetting the preferences fixed the unable to load library content even though he was logged in.

Can you try that? blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2012/07/photoshop-basic-troubleshooting-steps-to-fix-most-issues.html#Preferences

If that doesn't work, might try signing out and back into the Creative Cloud application: helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/sign-in-out-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

Let us know how this goes for you.
Regards
Pete

Hi
I have exactly the same problem, however re-setting the settings and logging in and out didnt fix the issue. Illustrator works fine, just photoshop.

any ideas?

I find myself having to reboot both PS and AI all the time because every time the laptop goes in the sleep mode it kicks off the CC connection. It's slightly frustrating as I like to keep many files open and restarting the programs forces me to close and reopen all the files.

What do you mean by "it kicks off the CC connection." Are you getting signed out? Or is there simply a delay until your network connection comes back up from being asleep?

nope I am still signed into the CC but PS and AI both stop recognizing that I am connected https://www.evernote.com/shard/s297/s... and the only way to address that is to restart the programs

What does the Creative Cloud app look like? Is it still logged in?

Do you have the 2014.2.1 update installed?

So if you bring up the About dialog, it says 2014.2.1? http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/201...

Hi Paul,

When you launch Ps, how are you going about it? And do you bring up any dialogs right after?

Also, what OS are you using?

steve

Hey, thanks for the reply.

I launch either via the Dock or via a specific file I am working on.
Not sure what you mean about Dialogues but I would say there is no specific pattern to the way I open as I receive files from clients and start new projects.

OS wise I have just upgraded to 10.10 but the issue was there before as i have lived with it a short while now.

Generally i find the CC program to be fairly unstable and generally has an alert attached... one regarding my files not being backed up to CC which could be related.

Also, on another note... Photoshop sometimes will not close. Or at least I close it and it re-opens.... I have to force quit. and sometimes that still reopens. Maybe not related but not sure?

Either way, it all sounds kinda wonky!

I am having the "Failed to Initialize" in both Ai and Ps. My colors and assets are all in the library and I don't have them written down-that's why we have the cloud - right?
Is there a fix for this?

I continually run into the problem of the CC library failing to connect in Photoshop (haven't been using many other apps so I don't know if I would have the same issue with those). I've been able to fix it sometimes with killing processes, logging out of Adobe CC and back in at least once, but I tried the same thing with the most recent occurrence and it's not fixing it. This is a professional product and for being such a key feature of the product, I'm amazed that it has so many problems. I've found that using Adobe stock is really useful since I can use images from the library and then purchase if needed, but since I can't even see any of the images I add to my library I'm stuck. Is it really so wrong to expect this feature to work?
