Photoshop CC: Clone Stamp Tool (alt + click) not working properly.

I recenty purchased Photoshop CC.
The stamp tool does not find Alt+click fast.
If I alt+click and move the cursor to stamp it, if I does it fast, it stamp some thing at the source point itself. + sign also doesnot move along with the mouse pointer.

I am bound to alt+click... wait for a sec... and then slowly move the tool..

This is so frustrating, I have to use it and it takes so much of time or else I will ruin my photographs and then ctrl+Z and then work slowly.... zzzzzz

I tried resetting my preferences, Updated my ATI/AMD graphics card drivers, No streaming in my browser in background. (These suggestions I got from adobe forum)

I dont understand how to work without stamp tool.

Please get this rectified... Please...

Hi Guys,,I recently purchased photoshop cc and it worked ok to start with but after the recent update I have this serious issue with the clone stamp as well and its really interfering with my retouching work now. Did any of you manage to sort the issue out if yes, please advise how to rectify it, Thanks.

Mine has NEVER worked, since the day I first subscribed. I thought it was some glitch and kept meaning to ask, but now it has reached epic proportion frustration. I see that everyone else posted this a year ago, and now it's March of 2015 and it STILL doesn't work. Please help me. Thank you.

Are you using a wacom tablet?

What OS/version are you running on?

are you saying that using the clone tool is move the canvas like the Move tool or panning the canvas like the Hand tool? Are you on Mac? It sounds like your tablet thinks there's a modifier key down when there isn't. Have you tried resetting the driver?

Me too, it appears to be wacom tablet, turning it off problem goes away.

That's frustrating. Photoshop should be made to use with the tablet!!

OK, i take it all back. the problem persists also in cc2015.5 :(
It is probably really WACOM driver issue?
Anyone tried to contact WACOM regarding this issue?

And here I was using the clone stamp tool today without any issues, and I do use an Intuos4 with Art Pen. But on a Mac.  I wasn't trying to be a speed demon, either—I was working with a very irregular and limited source, so I was being fairly slow and careful.

I have the same issue, I use Photoshop 2017 on Mac, with Intuos Pro...You can test the issue when using the clone stamp tool.  The ALT Click won't work at all... I raised this issue with Wacom back in July of 2016, but it was an issue way before that.

The only way I could get this to work was to uninstall the Wacom driver completely and rollback the driver to version 6.3.15-3

Wacom says this is a Adobe issue, but if the older driver works and the newer one breaks it, then it is clearly a Wacom issue...

THANK YOU.  I rolled back to a different Wacom driver and my tablet is now working. I use the CTH-490 Intuos tablet and I'm running the latest CC updates.  The driver that worked for me is _6.3.15-2

Uninstall your current Wacom driver.. unplug Wacom Restart computer. Google the driver listed above. And download and older driver. Plug in wacom. Restart. And hopefully it will work!

with the clone stamp, when I alt click, clone stamp works for a while, then stops! This is in Photoshop 17 with a mouse.
I have wacam 6.3.15-3 installed but have never plugged in my wacam.
Gotta be one more Adobe Keystone cops developer screwup.

I agree with bill bane, there's more to this than Wacom. Clone Tool is fussy and difficult lately. I'm repeatedly having to press Option and re-click the source layer to remind it what layer it's supposed to be sampling from or it'll start sourcing random layers. In my case it likes to sample the Background layer, not exclusively, but a lot. It appears to get behavior issues after Photoshop's been running a while, like an hour to a couple of hours. It behaves fine when first opened making it harder to troubleshoot. Weird stuff and for the record, I don't have any Wacom software installed.

There's something universally screwy with modifiers, they just don't work reliably anymore. No idea if it's Apple or Adobe. I have a hunch but regardless Adobe apps seems incredibly susceptible and more affected than other software. It's really getting irritating.

Today is June 21, 2017 and I have been having this issue on one PC but not another - and no problem using CS6. I only use a mouse. It used to work perfectly. I find myself resorting to my old CS6 to avoid this garbage on CC2017.
