Photoshop CC 2019: Mask appearance problems

Anyone else having problems when working with masks in CC2019? Sometimes I can paint in a mask and get absolutely no effect. Scroll through views ('F') and it pops into semi-quick mask mode showing me red when painting.

I have also had troubles with masks looking like they have been cropped. Switching over viewing only the mask it looks correct but on image it can be cropped creating weird masking issues. Seems to be a preview problem and not on the actual file but it results in me having to close photoshop and restarting it. Not ideal...
What the mask really looks like in red, the effect on the top one.

This issue should be fixed by the 20.0.1 update. Please let us know if you're still having trouble. Thanks!

If you go to Preferences > Performance and check "Legacy Compositing" option and restart Photoshop, does it look correct?

It doesn't show in the saved file, only on screen but will try that next time it happens and post it here with a follow up. Thanks.

I get a similar bug here and there that enables the red overlay for masks. It is not activated by the backslash key or quick mask , and won't go away by pressing the backslash key, but will if I enter and exit Quickmask

Today I also got this.

Luckily this was just on the jpg and not on the original tiff. The legacy compositing didn't help. Also this is in the actual file,  wasn't there when I saved the file. It showed up after save so this is not a mask preview failure and a lot more critical.

Hi Mårten,
Thank you for reporting this . Our engineering team is looking into this issue. We’re so sorry you had to experience that.

I've been getting weird geometric slices cut off from masked layers, especially (only?) smart objects. It'll go away if I turn off and on the layer (or any other, anything that makes the screen redraw) but then it'll come back, especially when transforming. Since it doesn't affect the actual file,  just the onscreen view, it's only during transform operations that it affects workflow (I have to see what the mask really looks like).

Also, may be related, some linked smart objects disappear completely when transforming. I've had to set up guides so I can execute transforms flying blind.

OS X Sierra, GTX 680. (I think I've had the disappearing smart objects on an R9 M395X too)
