Thanks. It was no easy task to make it work as fluidly and nicely as it does. We worked very closely with the Windows 10 dev team. Details here: https://theblog.adobe.com/photoshop-releases-version-19-1-selections-improvements-advanced-support-w...

I can only imagine...It's a shame it requires so much effort on windows while Mac gets it easier (it seems). But, nonetheless it was worth it and now it works flawlessly! -for me personally I can finally use my Wacom CIntiq but still benefit from my 4K display. So this feature his been on top of my wishlist for a very long time. -thanks again!

Mac has some limitations in its current implementation (retina only does 1x or 2x)

Hi Ellis,

Can you try it again? I had to shut down my computer and restart it and then I saw the update.

Regards,
Hannah

On my 17" full-hd ASUS laptop, it now looks horrible. The start-up splash screen is much larger now. And once Photoshop has started, everything looks way too big. I tried changing the UI Scaling under Preferences - Interface, but I can't get it right.

And I read about this: "With this release, Photoshop on Windows 10 Creator’s Edition now offers a full range of choices for UI scale factors from 100% through 400%, in 25% increments."

Where can I find these scale factors? Under Preferences - Interface, I only see 100% and 200%, although changing this setting has no effect.

With this release the scaling is primarily controlled by Windows 10 settings: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/whats-new.html#CSUI

Only Camera Raw and File Info use the scaling preference in Photoshop.

Older versions of Windows (Win 7/Win 8) still use the PS preference.

Hello. My entire Photoshop layout has doubled in size with this new update; it looks like it's in Windows Safe Mode. Is there a way to fix this? I am currently uninstalling and re-downloading the previous version because my eyes were melting from the bloated interface.

Same problem here. Good to hear I am not the only one with this problem. I will try and see how it looks on my other PC...

Hi Benny & Martin,

Thanks for the feedback. If you go to the Photoshop.exe file, right click and from that menu choose Properties > Compatibility - can you see if Override DPI Scaling is checked? If it is, uncheck it and see if that makes your UI better.

Here's a link with info on this issue https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/high-dpi-scaling.html

Thank you,
Hannah

Hi Hannah, Thanks for the fast reply.

I tried that (I tried many things, I even tried using the old Windows 8.1 DPI scaling on my Windows 10 Creator’s Edition) but it doesn't have any effect, unfortunately.

So just to verify, you're currently running Win 10 Creator's Edition?

Please reference the new conversation here: CC 2018 19.1 Photoshop on Win OS: Photoshop UI doubled in size

Yes, that's correct. And I also checked on my desktop, also running Win 10 Creator's Edition. I have the problem there. I think it might be related to the fact that the standard (factory default) Windows scaling on these computers is 125% in combination with the fact that UI scaling in the new version of Photoshop is not responsive on my computers (and it was in the previous versions).

On my Macbook Pro running MacOS 10.12.6, I install CC 2017 first then CC 2018. The problem is when I try to associate CC 2018 with all PSD files. The "Change All" button still reverts the default app to CC 2017 leaving me to assign 2018 individually not globally. If there is nothing I can do at my end, can this be fixed? I would like to keep 2017 as a backup.

How about some high resolution monitor support for Mac retina display...creating web graphics on this display is basically impossible and forces me to work almost entirely in illustrator. Please fix this asap....waste of an update

Why have not I received this update? My application Adobe Creative Cloud tells me that I'm up to date but I still have version 19.0

You should see 19.1.0 in either the About menu, or in Help > System Info.  If you only see 19.0, it's possible that your Creative Cloud has a problem. It should be 4.3.0.256 if you have automatic update turned on in its preferences.

If the CC App's preferences show that version, then try quitting CC and then relaunching it. If that doesn't work, the next step is either go to Adobe Downloads  (adobe.com, then on the far left of your page, choose Desktop Downloads) and download a new copy of the Creative Cloud app, and install over to try to fix the problem—or to sign out, then sign back in and see if that doesn't show you that you have an update available.

At least one of these fixes has worked for me every time the Creative Cloud app doesn't seem to be doing what it's supposed to.

Hi Carlos,

You don't happen to have an enterprise or team membership do you? Sometimes institutions block updates.

Thanks,
Hannah

I'm running the latest Windows 10 and CCloud says that my version of Photoshop is up to date but its v19 not 19.1 and I know this is wrong! Refreshing and signing  in and out does not work..!!!
Any ideas?

Hi Anthony,

Sorry for the frustration! Have you tried running the Creative Cloud Cleaner for Win?

Download and instructions are here:

Thanks,
Hannah

Many thanks. Unfortunately you need to reinstall 2018 too. Keep preference seems to work too. Testing as we speak. Thanks for the heads up on this.

Yes looks like it's not working. The curser/brush/anything ! ailment does not work. It's paining in a different place and I can't easy select the menus on the top. I have resent preferences and unplugged any wacom tablet. Played with the UI Settings still same issues. Note this is on a new 4k monitor.
I do not have any issues on windows 7 with 2018 but in windows 10 it's getting very silly and time wasting.
I will uninstall using above remove tools and reinstall again. Any ideas welcome?

Update. Updating the photoshop.exe compatibility settings in the properties. Check or uncheck and see which applies to your situation will solve this alignment issues.

Good afternoon, everyone!

I have a photo editor that's running OS X 10.11.6 and he isn't seeing the 19.1.1 update in CC Desktop. He is currently at 19.0.x Do I need to upgrade him to macOS 10.12.5 to be able to install the 19.1.1 update?

Thank you!

Hi Craig, no, he should be able to get the update with 10.11.x. Is this a team or enterprise account?
