Photoshop CC 2017: CTRL+F & the icon does activate the search function

The function works properly on a workmates machine, but not mine.  we have tried reinstalling, changing the shortcut but still not working.  the search icon changes colour tone, but does not do anything else.  Windows 7 operating system.

Hi Robyn,

So when you press CTRL+F what happens?  I take it a panel with "Find it Fast" doesn't appear.  Same thing when you click the icon?

Would you be available for a web-hosted screenshare so I can help troubleshoot this problem for you?

Thanks,
David

Hi Robyn, if you go to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts... what does it say for Set? Does it say "Photoshop Defaults," Photoshop Defaults (Modified)," or something else?

If you set it to "Photoshop Defaults" does it work?

Also, when you launch Photoshop, do you see the start screen? Like this:

Or just the application frame, like this:

I have a start screen like the top one.  and I have checked that the shortcuts are set the CTRL+F for search, but it does not activate.  neither does clicking the mouse on the search button.

Does selecting Edit > Search also fail for you?

yes it also fails to activate the search function Jeffrey.  nothing happens ... interestingly File>search adobe stock works.  but not the search (CTRL+F) or the magnifying glass icon in the top right hand corner.

What Set are your Keyboard Shortcuts set to? Do you see the Start Screen on launch> or just the application frame?

Howdy Obada,

What OS are you running?  Could I do a quick screenshare with you?  I'm out of the office after today, but I'm still at my desk at the moment...8-)

To all of this topic
i think Search Icon will not Work because it's a new features that require windows and photoshop 64 bit system
because i have windows 32 bit system and search not working with me
it's the same with 3d features too need 64 bit

thanks to all
if it's helped you please comment or replay

Howdy Masry,

Yes, it is true that the new Search feature is available only for 64 bit systems.  The same is also true for 3D.  If you think about the video cards, they just can't handle the limited pipeline and still perform.  Does that make sense?

Thanks,
David
