Photoshop CC 2015.5.1: Not printing in macOS 10.12 Sierra

A few workarounds. Open it in Mac Preview or download QuadToneRip PrintTools.

Well, Mark, thanks for the work arounds. Unfortunately, QuadToneRip is for Black and White printing and MacPreview just doesn't cut it with custom ice profiles.

Quad Tone Rip Print Tools is what you need, not Quad Tone Rip. http://www.quadtonerip.com/html/QTRprinttool.html

Preview works perfect with my custom made profiles. Make sure you are looking in the correct place in the page setup screen.

Print Tools is a different product than QuadTone ... same developer two different applications.

Just a reminder to everyone on a Mac, you can print out of Mac Preview with no issues. Hopefully a temporary workaround.

Another week has gone by and STILL Adobe has not found a way to let Photoshop CC print to a professional wide format printer under Sierra.  How many thousands of photographers - besides me - find this to be ridiculous ?  My work flow is restricted and I have  wasted days, not hours, in patching together some hardware that can go back to El Capitan ..... And we all pay big buck$ to rent this software each month.

The same engineer does print in Photoshop and Lightroom.

Ellwood implied the Lightroom and Photoshop team don't talk to one another. I was telling him that the same guy works on the printing code in Lightroom and Photoshop. My official answer already states that he's working on this issue in Photoshop.

Thanks, Jeff, just confused. None of this is easy for your customers and I know for me it was maddening to get a run around from customer support. Speaking only for myself it is difficult to tell my customers that they have to wait because I am having an impossible time printing their images (wow, 2 weeks since my original post) I work with a few fine art photographers who pay very well for photographs that are printed they way we want them to print for individual installations. I use three different Epson printers and none of them is working properly with Photoshop and Sierra. Now I know that I was stupid to have upgraded to Sierra so fast, but if I and others hadn't done so, apparently Adobe would still be unaware of the problem. Catch 22.

I know your engineer is probably feeling the pressure, but so is everyone else in this strange food chain. Obviously, PS & LR are different apps, despite their similarities, so I don't doubt he/she has a challenge finding the bug.

What would help out a whole lot is someone just making the effort to keep the "guys in the band", your customers, up to date. I'm sure most any of us would be only too happy to test any fixes you might wish to try ... I certainly would.

Where did you find 2015.5.2 ?  My creative Cloud shows NO update ....

There is 2015.5.2 update. The current version is 2015.5.1. You can confirm you have the latest version by going to Help > System Info.

A fix for printing issues in Sierra is forthcoming but I can tell you the version # is not 2015.5.2.  I will update this thread once an update is available.

Sorry, but I don't see even the version 2005.5.1. I am still blocked on 2015.5.0. This is what I have and no update is in creative cloude.

Well, Jeffrey Tranberry, we are moving into week 4 of this problem, and still no solution from Adobe. Do you have any idea when we might expect to be able to print with reliability from Photoshop CC? I am a patient person, but really this is testing that patience.

It's more complicated than one might seem. I'm hoping a solution will be available soon.

Didn't Adobe have a beta version of Sierra to test Photoshop on? This is looking like a major fail of the Adobe development team.

We did, but again, it's more complicated than it may seem.

I hope that will be provided compensation.

No - it says that the installer file may be damaged.  It is 1.38 GB and  it did not open. 

Jeffrey, neither of the two methods reveal a 15.1.2. The latest update posted as of this message is 15.1.1. 

I had to uninstal PS 2015.5.0 and instal again. Now I hae the 2015.5.1. The same problem with lightroom, I had the .6 version and no update showed. I uninstal Lightroom, instal again and now I have the .7 version.

Jeffrey, when I go to the desktop app, it says that the most current version is 15.1.1. When I followed your link above, I saw 15.1.2, but couldn't find where to download it from.

Epson has just posted an updated version of the driver for the SureColor P9000 printer - to be used with Sierra - Mac OS 10.12

Now we need to see if that fixes the ongoing Photoshop CC failure to print under Sierra.


Step-by-step we can get back to work.

Nicola, Thanks for the good advice. I was able to get Photoshop Elements to print on my HP Photosmart printer MacOS Sierra by opening the firewall and adding the printer.  Mike

I updated the drivers for my Epson printers and am still crashing.  :( 

Updated drivers from Epson today for my Stylus Photo 1400. Still crashing. :(
Running Photoshop CS6.

(Deleted the printer first, of course, then re-installed.) I did notice one change, in the Print window. Before, the Printer Profile was showing a date of sorts. Now it's back to showing sRGB IEC61966-2.1)
