Did you update to 2015.0.1? This update should fix this issue for you: https://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/20...

I'm not seeing this issue. CMD-J does in fact duplicate the artboard and all its contents, although it places it directly on top of the previous artboard, so it makes it hard to see.

A video of your process (with the canvas and layers panel visible) might give us some more clues.

I'm having the same issue... if I duplicate a group within an artboard (either cmd+J, or dragging the group to the 'new layer' control in the bottom of the layers pallet), the new version of the group is jumping to the top of the artboard, rather than directly above the original group.

Duplicating just a single layer within an artboard is behaving correctly (appears above the original layer)... but this duplicate group miss-ordering issue is a huge bummer for common workflows.

"the new version of the group is jumping to the top of the artboard, rather than directly above the original group."

Can you explain this a bit more? Or post a video? I'm not sure I understand what is happening.

Any update on this? This bug is really a deal breaker for art boards for all the designers on my team.

@Zeke Shore, yep thats it but my issue tells that duplicated group appears in the top of layers stock in selected artboard, no outside artboard. But the problem is teh same. Adobe should look at it :)
