Photoshop CC 20.0.1: Running slowly and missing features on Windows

My Photosohp (20.0.1) which just was downloaded to my Windows laptop is 'broken'. For example, when clicking on the brush dropdown menu, it takes 20 seconds for the brushes to display and then five seconds once a brush is selected. The Filter Gallery is NOT working, none of them. Photoshop 'crashed' and Adobe sent me a message right afterwards indicating that Adobe was gathering information, hang in there (not exactlly those words). I just had the laptop checked by the shop and it is 'okay'. I have not uninstalled PS and really don't want to. I'm stuck in the Adobe 'support page' I can't tell anyone. Thank you in advance. . .

Have you tried restoring your prefs? https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/basic-troubleshooting.html#prefs

If that doesn't help, It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help > System Info... and copy/paste the text in a reply.

I would suspect the problem might be because of a conflict between your two cards/drivers.

See section 7 here "Multiple graphics cards with conflicting drivers can cause problems with GPU-accelerated or enabled features in Photoshop": https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-gpu-graphics-card.html#GPUandgraphicsdrivertrouble...

Thank you again for taking the time to check into my issue. I have checked the link, again, copied and pasted that information into a word doc so I could find the highlighted portion.

I used the 'find' command to look for that highlighted portion several times.  I am going to say 'that it isn't there', but it is there.

What is confusing to me is I have been using Photoshop for a long time now and was just prompted to update it. That is when several things showed up, I have only shared the few biggest. Photoshop has crashed on me, copy and pasted works part time, the app is slow almost all the time, the app is just different, it is broken. I even took the laptop into the 'shop' and the tech checked it out and gave Filter Gallery Filters, all of those make me wait while it does its thing, then nothing.

Before I signed up to Photoshop Family I checked several places on the web but no luck with resolving any of my issues. I have used the product on a daily basis for years and not have anything like this until I updated the product.

I included Photoshop's opening splash screen below. Maybe I have the wrong app for what I signed up for.

Again thank you.

That's the correct product. You're not seeing the section that talks about not using multiple cards, and instructions for using the Nvidia software to only use the NVIDIA processor?

NVIDIA: a. Right-click anywhere on the desktop and choose the NVIDIA control panel.

b. Click Manage 3D settings.

c. Click Program Settings and add Photoshop.exe and sniffer.exe. Change the preferred graphics processor to High-performance NVIDIA processor.

Or disabling the integrated Intel card if that doesn't work:

If step 7 does not resolve the issue, consider disabling the graphics cards. However, do bear in mind that disabling the graphics card may lead to system instabilities.

To disable a graphics card, use the Device Manager on Windows. In the Device Manager, right-click the card's name and choose Disable.

Rats! It didn't work. I'll consider disabling the graphics card, but I will get a drink first. I realize that this 'thread' has been on only a couple of things, but there are several other things that suddenly have broken. I'm in the right place with PF but I'm considering uninstalling the product, unless you advise otherwise.

I am having problems with Photoshop CC Version 20.0.1. Most functions are greyed out and the home page is not displaying. I am getting the message 'The "Home" extension could not be loaded because of a program error. Version 2.5.2'. How can I roll back to the previous working version?
