Photoshop CC 19.1.5: Brushing, toggling layer visibility, and zooming very slow

Photoshop CC 2018 version 19.1.5 is really slow for some reason! I've noticed a lot of latency on the most recent version of Photoshop currently available (19.1.5). When using the zoom tool, it will take several seconds before Photoshop actually zooms into the document. Brush tools are slow. Turning layers on and off have been slow. I'm currently working on a business headshot at a file size of 1.98GB and I know it's a good sized file, but I work on files like this all the time and usually have no problems. I don't normally have this type of latency while working on files in Photoshop. Is anyone else having issues with this release? Any suggestions?

I'm on a 27" iMac with 32GB of Ram running Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6
2GB video RAM (AMD Radeon R9 M395)
