Photoshop: Blending mode slider

I just had this idea while working with water and glass in photoshop. What if the blending modes had a slider (like opacity) that controls the amount of blending mode that effects the layer. This could open the door for so many different possibilities!

That's already possible by just lowering the opacity.

yes with another layer that is on normal underneath and then you would have to fix the opacity on that layer too, which works but I was thinking of all of the different possibilities you could make without having to back and forth between tweaking both layers. just something to increase creative workflow and see different options quicker.

The amount of blending for what, exactly? Between two layers? Or do you mean like if Multiply had an amount slider? How would that be different than the Fill Slider?

YES WOW, why have I never saw this...... I just looked up a tut to see what it was and then opened photoshop and could not believe that slider been ben there the whole time and I have never touched it..... Thank you @eartho I feel a bit stupid right now lol

If you're talking about custom RGB blending that allows different color math ops such as trigonometric functions, absolute values, bitwise functions, rgb sliders without affecting the image (similar to the feature found in Boris Continnum products) and scripting as well as blend math presets etc., that one's not implemented. Let's say if you wanted OpenGL blend operations with these math ops:

a * b + b * a = 2x multiplicative
a + a * b = Soft Dodge

That can be done through advanced blending options if it was added to Photoshop.
