Photoshop: Allow user select which area preferentially to use for Content-Aware fill

Feature Suggestion: Refine content-aware fill by letting user select which area preferentially to use for the fill. For example, sometimes I want the fill to just use what's to the right, say, but the current feature pulls from both sides, left and right (and top and bottom).

You could implement this in two ways: (1) With check boxes for Up, Down, Right and Left to note the areas preferred for generating the fill; or (2) With an arrow inside a dial that the user would point in the preferred direction for the fill material.

One way to do that is with a layer mask.
Use the mask to tell content aware fill where to sample from and not sample from.
