Photoshop: Add ability to easily move swatches to library

It would be great to be able to drag swatches from Swatches to Libraries. Or to have a menu item in the Swatches panel menu to export a swatch or swatch group to a Library.

I just had a project where I carefully created a group of swatches and then wanted to access them in another Adobe CC app, but I would have either needed to export them from Photoshop and import them in the target app, or click each one to select the color and then click into the library to save it there so it would sync to my other apps.

I was surprised to find there was no way to easily move swatches from Swatches to Libraries. It seems like a pretty obvious thing to do to make Libraries more useful. As it is, if you want colors in Swatches and Libraries you have to build the set twice, once in each area.

Well, not quite, though almost.  '-} If you create a swatch, you have the opportunity to add it to whatever library is currently active. If I'm building from scratch, that would be the way to go.

And if you select a swatch in the Swatches panel, it's easy enough to drag it into your currently active library, but I agree that it's not as easy as it should be to not have to build the set twice.  I can't find a way to drag in a selection of swatches or a group of swatches. That should be a no-brainer to implement.

Are you using the current version of Ps? When you click the new swatch button, there's an option to add it to the Library, which makes a copy in both swatches and Library...
I'll ask around though and see if the select-multiple drag/drop thing is broken or working as intended.

Hi there,

I'm having the same problem, but more. The thing is, when I add a new swatch to my currently active library, it just adds the swatch to the ungrouped part of the library. After which I can drag it to the intended library.

So.. how do I "activate" a library?
