Photoshop: Action Auto History

I would love to see future editions of Photoshop with a feature that automatically saves the history of the last image in a place where it can be converted into an action for future use in one click.

I suppose that could be similar in some way, but not really what I want to accomplish. Sometimes you'll just be experimenting and you end up with some cool result or you figure out just the right steps to correct a severely damaged image, and you'd like to apply the exact same effect to other images but you don't know exactly how you got there nor can you seem to retrace your steps. If there were a feature on Photoshop to record steps in the history that could be converted into an action in one click, it would save a ton of time and be very convenient.

ImageReady actually had this feature. You could drag history steps to the Actions panel to create an action.

That sounds beautiful. I'm going to have to check this out. I'd love to see Adobe bring it into Photoshop.

Dez, do you know about the history log? it would track every change you made, letting you follow it, if you want to recreate the steps/record an action.

Interesting. I suppose that presents a solution to the larger part of the problem. Thanks, I'll have to play with that. Though I still think it would be cool if you could quickly and easily save the last set of steps to an action for future use.
