Photoshop: Ability to move selected pixels across multiple layers

As of Photoshop CC 2019 I cannot have more than one layer selected, lasso or marquee around a portion of my canvas and then move or transform the pixels from each layer. I've been able to do this in my other image editing software and I find it extremely useful.  It doesn't have to be the default behavior of the move or transform tool, but maybe a toggle-able menu option.

Andrea,
As far as I know Photoshop does not have this option.
I was thinking of some sort of workaround.
Make your selection,  Edit>Copy merged. Then make a new layer and paste. Not sure if this is helpful...

Thanks Ronald. Yeah, this has been an itch for me since PS5. I really need the layer content unmerged. If you ever get your hands on comic studio, that functionality is what I'd like. In addition to it's perspective rulers, but that's a whole other topic....

And I just saw the related topics below. Looks like someone's been asking for this for at least 8 years.
