Photoshop 22.4.3 EPS

Translated from Japanese via Google Translate:

Photoshop 22.4.3 EPS reading error?

After uploading to Photoshop 22.4.3, when importing EPS, it is automatically imported in a form other than the general-purpose EPS format.

In 22.4.2, you will be asked first if you want to rasterize. When I load it after this dialog, I can load EPS with a transparent background.

From 22.4.3, the indexed color background opaque EPS is automatically loaded. I want to know if it is a specification change or a bug.

When creating banners, etc., it was convenient because parts were saved in EPS from printed matter with illustrator, and when they were brought to photoshop, the size was decided when they were read, and the one with a transparent background could be read. This method has been used frequently for a long time.

From 22.4.3, open by specifying the format, so select general-purpose EPS and open it to make it transparent. Has the default behavior changed?

However, even if you select a file from normal open and select general-purpose EPS and open it, the background of the index color becomes opaque.

From this, I suspect a bug.

Please let me know if it is a specification change or a bug.

Having just updated Photoshop on Windows 10 64bit, I can see the described behaviour too.

When dragging and dropping an .EPS file into a .PSD, the vector artwork containing transparent areas is rendered with a white opaque background.

It also arrives with a very limited colour palette (most likely the Mac OS GIF colour palette). Directly opening the same EPS in Photoshop (ie, not as a smart layer) results in the same experience.

Dropping an .AI version of the same vector artwork into the same open PSD results in the expected behaviour. The .AI renders correctly.

Note: I do not know if this issue was present in previous versions.

I hope an admin can change the title of this post to English so a bigger proportion of folks can see it. This one is a fairly major issue, especially for people who work with EPS files regularly or via PS Actions.

I was also having this problem. Every EPS I open in Photoshop 22.4.3 appears like the bottom example in Anthony's screenshot.

A solution that worked for me was to roll back to an older version of Photoshop.

My job relies heavily on EPS files, so a look into this bug would be greatly appreciated!!
