Photoshop 22: When I click a menu and attempt to click a sub menu option it jumps to the menu list to the left
I've run into a frustrating menu issue with Photoshop 2021 (v22) that makes it unusable.
On my Windows 10 machine with all video drivers up to take, I can't properly select options in menus. When I click a menu item (say, Filter) and attempt to click an option under that menu, Photoshop instead jumps to a menu list to the left. It's impossible to select anything under the Help menu, for instance.
I've recorded a video of this behavior.
A few more notes:
- Closing down and restarting Photoshop does not solve the problem.
- Rebooting makes no difference.
- Uninstalling and reinstalling makes no difference.
- The menu system works fine with Photoshop 21.2.4, Lightroom, Premiere and every other software.
This is specific to Photoshop 22 and I'm not the only one who's run into this.

I'm not able to reproduce. Are you using a mouse, trackpad or stylus?
If you restore your preferences using this manual method does it work correctly?
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually
If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.

The same has been going on for me, though my menu moves up to 7 places to the left. It happens as soon as I move the cursor after clicking the menu. I don't have to click sub menu or anything. I don't even get an opportunity to get to one of those. I can arrow key through the menus just fine.
Close/re-open, reboot, uninstall/re-install -- still does this. Everything up to date. Both trackpad and mouse have this issue. I have not updated my desktop to latest PS to see if this happens there too.

Any update on this? Is this issue being acknowledged and investigated?

I have had the same problem and have tried all the standard attempts to correct with no success. Hope a fix is soon available that works as this seems to be a growing problem.

We haven't been able to reproduce this problem at all in house.
Are you running any extensions that might be causing a conflict?
If you run in Safe Mode - does the problem persist?

Many of us have been reporting the problem. In my case it's specific to Photoshop. I've never seen this behavior with ANY of dozens of other software that I use daily. It is isolated to this version of Photoshop.
It's disappointing that a month and half after I first reported this issue, no one from Adobe has reached out to those of us running into the problem to troubleshoot and fix the problem. And my post here asking for update and to ensure that this hasn't been ignored was not answered.
Saying that you're not able to reproduce it and asking me try generic troubleshooting steps, which I try and report back, but which are then ignored isn't the solution.
Can this issue please be properly addressed?

I have taken all the steps I can. I have a current video driver I have reset my preferences and rebooted/reinstalled and again rebooted and to no avail. I have reinstalled the prior version (2021.21.2.4) and it works just fine. This IMO tells me that the latest version is not up to snuff and whether you can duplicate the problem or not is not helpful to those of us paying you for software that is not up to performing and cannot be used. Please get someone that can do more than basically say, 'not my problem' and fix this release, it is broken. Thank you.

Hi, same problem here from launch day on TWO different PCs (one desktop, one laptop). A quick google search has revealed dozens of reports online to this effect. Almost HALF of my students had the exact same problem this past semester (out of 8 college courses). This has made Photoshop 2021 100% unusable.
Resetting settings doesn't help. Uninstalling doesn't help. Updating GPU driver doesn't help. Switching the mouse doesn't help. Safe mode doesn't help.
I've been using PS since the 90's and am not unskilled with the program. This is an actual, real, issue, and the fact that PS can't replicate it is odd, to say the least. How many people have tried to replicate the problem? How many computers have you tested it on? Have you used Macs only? Multiple PC suppliers (Dell, Microsoft, HP, Lenovo, etc.,)?
Please, please, please treat this as a real problem. I feel like I'm going to the doctor's office and he's decided I'm a hypochondriac before conducting any exams...

This is getting annoying. Let's review:
- Photoshop 2021 is released and immediately a menu system problem surfaces for some of us, making the software unusable.
- I post about it in the Adobe Support Community. I'm told to post about it here instead.
- I post about it here, documenting what's happening, sharing a video showing the issue, and detailing the troubleshooting steps I've taken.
- I receive one reply here from Adobe with a basic troubleshooting step, which I attempt and reply about.
- Radio silence from Adobe.
- Others post about the issue.
- More radio silence from Adobe.
- I ask for an update.
- Again, radio silence from Adobe.
- More people report on the issue.
- Not once has anyone from Adobe shown interest in getting to the bottom of this by, say, asking for a system configuration report or messaging me for details or otherwise shown any genuine interest in fixing the problem,
It's going on two months now since I first reported this problem. In that time I haven't been able to use the new features of Photoshop 2021, yet I continue paying for it like a lemming.
Is this really the Adobe of 2020?

Adobe, I know you're primarily a marketing agency at this point, but if you want to keep up the façade of being an imaging company, would you kindly engage with your paying customers and look into the issues your product has on many, many, systems?
I also with with Capture One and am wondering why in the world I should continue to recommend Photoshop and Lightroom to my students (at two colleges, across four programs). I have a new semester just about to start and with the great student discount, maybe Capture One would be a suggestion for them...

I am experiencing unusual menu behavior with the most recent version of Photoshop 2021 v22. Another user has also reported the same issue.
When I mouse over the top menu items (e.g. File, Edit, Image ...)the drop down menus randomly disappear for a second and the adjacent menu titles (e.g. Select and Filter) will disappear momentarily.
Photoshop is running on a PC, Windows 10, with latest graphics card driver. This unusual menu behavior does not occur on Photoshop’s previous 2020 version.
Any advice appreciated.

When mousing over menu items, the adjacent menus are activated. In plain English, if I mouse over Image, there's a delay, then Edit is activated.
This is not an isolate case. Please Adobe, please, pay attention to this issue. As is, V22.1 is unusable. I'm on V21 and that functions just fine.
Is anyone else experiencing this???
