Photoshop 21.1.3: MANY BASIC dialogs not responsive

Others are reporting similar issues, even image/adjustment/brightness-contrast simply does not accept any input and is unresponsive, while the application is still running and not reporting unresponsive. Requires force quit. MacBook Pro 2016 15" Catalina 10.15.4, 16 GB ram, 60 GB free drive space, Radeon Pro 450 2 GB, Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB BAD bug, makes PS unusable for basic functions. Not acceptable.

Same issue here. iMac with same OS. Brightness/contrast and color balance adjustment hangs the app

John: It looks to me that you actually have a hardware problem and not a "bug" as you do not have very much drive space left,  have outdated video circuit with inadequate amount of video memory, and are on the very low edge of sufficient RAM to run Photoshop.

With that small amount of RAM and the size of 21.1.3 and that tiny remaining drive space, what may be happening  is that Photoshop and your work and the OS have to swap out to disk (virtual memory) but there is no room to do so.

I recently saw a photo from Pakistan of a four cylinder 1980ish Datsun pickup loaded with so much stuff that it jammed under an overpass. That driver really needed a bigger truck!

For some reason which I do not understand, people tend to blame the software first and do not notice that they are trying to use a golf cart to haul boulders.

Time for a new computer!

Well my iMac is relatively new and has lots of RAM. It's been running Photoshop for years without issue until this update. These are software bugs that need to be fixed. Hopefully soon.

It seems like everytime there's an issue, Catalina is involved.
This has been going on for at least 8 months—Catalina has caused so many problems with PS that I've declined updating the OS to Catalina.

I was working on a Clients brand new imac that had Catalina on it and we ran into so many problems that we had to send it back to Apple to completely reformat the drive and have them reinstall High Sierra...Luck for us, because it was a new imac we didn't lose any work.

George Sheen:  Software bugs perhaps, but they are Catalina bugs not Photoshop, else everybody would have the same problems.

These features of Photoshop worked fine the day (and the months) before I installed the update, so clearly the product can work in Catalina; whatever changes Adobe made to the updated version were not tested properly in that OS. Adobe advertises that this product works on a Mac, I have the most current version of the OS, and I pay the same monthly maintenance fee as everyone else.  I expect Adobe to fix the issue or to tell us they have abandoned the Mac operating environment.

Like George says, they worked the day before the update. I was continuing to work on a sizeable collection of images, 2/3 of the way through, and reminded that the new version was installed. Fine, no problem, right? I was, should I say, taken aback that so many basic features which had literally worked the day before was now not working. Catalina didn't change, Photoshop did. Guaranteed.

Don't waste your time debating on the configuration of your hardware. I created a thread about the exact problem. https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/photoshop-21-1-3-hue-saturation-dialog-box-bug?utm_source=notification&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=new_reply&utm_content=reply_button&reply[id]=20541203#reply_20541203

This has been identified as a bug by Adobe's team who are currently investigating the bug. For now, the only known workaround is to deactivate the rulers and / or manipulate the broken dialog boxes out of Photoshop (so sick). For me, deactivating the rulers ruled.

Although, that's crazy cause some of the people here are participating to the other thread and everyone knows it's an actual bug...
