Photoshop 21.0.1: Freeze/Beachball
I have 21.0.1. No more recent updates. However, using Mac with Mojave it crashes constantly. I use a filter and I get the spinning beach ball. I copy and paste I get the spinning beach ball. It's pretty random, and very frustrating. So no, the newest version does NOT fix a lot of the problems. This should have been taken care of long ago.

Just a hunch, but you might want to check your system font cache. They're rather fragile during upgrades on Mac (both OS and applications). The steps to validate and regenerate the font caches (you've got two!) can be found here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-fonts-photoshop.html
If the problems persist, please let us know!
Thanks,
David
