Photoshop 2021: Can't pan with Wacom tablet using spacebar while drawing a line with the lasso tool

In the 2021 update, I cannot pan the canvas with spacebar while I'm using the lasso tool (actively drawing a line).

In the 2020 version, holding spacebar would temporarily turn the lasso tool into the hand tool, allowing for easy panning without losing the lasso selection. It was very handy for readjusting my hand during a long selection, or simply seeing more of my canvas as I'm selecting.

This must surely be a bug? Please fix this! It's vital to my workflow!

This issue should be fixed on 22.0.1.

I was just upgraded to 22.0.1 and the spacebar no longer works as the hand tool no matter what tool I'm working with! Tre frustrating!

Not Fix for users that use WibTab API for pen support. The space bar does not even toggle to the panning hand tool cursor.  This has been in 21.2.4 and in 22.0.1.

The problem is fixed in 22.0.1 if you use INK API bye the is a performance problem if you use INK API so users use WinTab API

I'm sad to say the fix hasn't worked for me, either. I installed the update. I even tried a fresh install. Nothing I've tried has made the hand tool work with the lasso tool when I'm using a Wacom Pen Tablet. I'm still using the previous version of Photoshop where it works as expected, so no hardware issue. I hope you guys have luck ironing the issue out by the next update.

I did not try it with a mouse until now. The functionality does seem to work correctly with a mouse, but not with the Wacom Tablet. How strange.

If anyone has a solution to this, it would be much appreciated. I do need to use my tablet with the lasso tool. Using a mouse would be much less precise.

I have not heard of wintab until now. I don't believe I do, unless I'm mistaken. My Wacom tablet currently has Windows Ink checked.

For me the express keys on the Wacom wont work with new 2021 photoshop - they work with every other program and also the mapping keeps breaking and the wacom only maps to one of my two screens (it reverts to just my imac screen and loses my new Eizo monitor)

If I press space to move the image while I use the Polygonal Lasso tool, the image doesn't move until I release space.

This happens in Photoshop 20 (21.2.4) and 21 (22.0.0).

Windows 10 (1909).

Has anyone found a fix for this? It is happening to me on photoshop 2020 and 2021 when trying to pan using any tool. I'm using Wacom and MacBook Pro

Same problem for me. But I use a Huion Tablet Kamvas pro 20

Adobe Photoshop Version: 22.1.0

For me the problem is related to Windows Ink and WinTab. 

Windows Tab enabled:

  • space bar is not working at all while using the freehand lasso tool.
  • space bar shortcut works normal with the polygon lasso tool.

Windows Ink enabled and Windows Tab disabled:

  • space bar shortcut works normal with all lasso tools while using a mouse.
  • using a stylus and pressing space bar makes the hand tool icon appear, but I can't move the canvas around until I lift my stylus from my screen once, then I am able to scroll the canvas with space bar without a problem for the reminder of the selection. Lifting the stylus is not ideal since it makes it very hard to draw a precise selection. And I have to use windows ink which is also not ideal. 

Windows Ink and Windows Tab disabled:

  • spacebar shortcut with the lasso tool works normal. But obviously I don't have pressure sensitivity anymore. 

I am going to try older PS Versions later
