Photoshop 2020: File saving - user permissions incorrect
When saving files from Photoshop 2020, file permissions are not set correctly. They are usually set to 774, but are being set to 600. So, it sets the user to read/write, and no permissions for anyone else. This causes huge issues, as we have limited ability to change permissions on our Macs at work. Running Photoshop 21.0.1 on MacOS High Sierra (10.13.6) on a 2013 Mac Pro. This happens whether a file is saved to the desktop or our network. This was not an issue with Photoshop 2019.

Our studio has a remote drive with our image library shared across our network. It has been like this for 20 years and has never had a major issue. However, now that we are running Photoshop 21 we are having all sorts of problems. Firstly, I cannot open a file on the network drive, alter it and re-save it. Apparently Adobe has decided on our behalf that this is not a recommendation. Fair enough, but I would have liked to be given the option first. Multiple requests for support give the same answer - copy the file across to your hard drive, make the changes, then copy them back again. This shows me that the latest round of developers are exactly that - they are developers and NOT end users. I challenge anyone working in a busy studio environment to keep this process running consistently. The next issue is when we save these files to our desktop as instructed. We then have to manually change the permissions of these files because otherwise other future users on the network cannot change them. I must add here that this issue happens ONLY with Photoshop. InDesign and Illustrator continue to work satisfactorily as before.
