Photoshop 2017: Select/Mask tool crashes every time

Ever since updating, everytime I go to use the select/mask tools, PS CC 2017 will stop working. An error pops up: "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. " OpenCL is unchecked. Has this happened to anyone else? What could be the problem/solution?

At this point, the only solution is to use refine edge instead. first make your selection. next, go to the Select menu. Hold Shift and click Select and Mask, "in the menu." The original Refine edge will open. Try updating your drivers if you wan to try select & mask, no guarantees though

Update: My Illustrator began experiencing issues with opening, so I decided to uninstall all my CC apps, run the CC cleanup tool, restart and reinstall everything. So far things like the select/mask tool seem to be working normally now. Phew.

My "Select and Mask" crashed several times but not everytime. I don't see the pattern that's causing the crash. Quite annoying!

Go to menu:

Edit/Preferences  Performance/Use Graphics Processor/Advanced Settings/Drawing Mode/

Select: NORMAL

Work for me :)

the memory full crashes too, close all programs, and restart photoshop.
