Photoshop 2017: Does not run on macOS 20.15 Catalina

With Catalina I open Photoshop 2017 wishing to go to open an image to work. Impossible!
The spinning ball of hell starts, cannot open anything.

Only the current version is supported on Catalina: https://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/...

Install photoshop cc 2019 so your photoshop works on Catalina.

Use the Creative Cloud Desktop Application to remove photoshop cc 2017, then install photoshop cc 2019.

We are facing issues with the latest release of Catalina, and adobe is working hard to fix this in the coming updates. would suggest you to, try photoshop cc 2019 and else contact adobe support, so they can collect your logs and system info to fix it in up in coming updates of creative cloud

From long, long tech support experience in the Macintosh community, I can tell you to never, never install a major Mac update before it has been available for a month or more. Let others find all the problems and bugs. This is especially true for people like us that are using complex software like Ps and Lr.

Yes and no, when I worked at Apple, we always installed new releases immediately. But I guess we were in position to work through bugs.

I do agree, though, either hold off on Catalina or install on a second drive and test first. For Adobe users, I'd wait.

"But I guess we were in position to work through bugs." Yes, you were. The rest of us lost time, money, and sleep!

Guys,  Thanks!  Why selling Creative Cloud?   Way too many apps for me, not to mention the monthly price.   I will assume that I simply delete Photoshop 2017. Then move to Photoshop Plan. 9.99 is better than 20.99 for me.
My big question here is: does this make it easy to cancel the previous payment method, and replace with the new one?
Now I learn to wait a month AFTER the intro of updates..... never smart as you!

Hi Alan, it looks like you're already on the $9.99 photography plan. All you have to do is update your apps using the Creative Cloud desktop app: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

Hey, Guys!!
1000 mercis!!
A Adobe Customer Support person ended taking over my laptop, and properly installed the Creative Cloud app.  So I get to spend time to learn best ways to use it.
Got the Photoshop Lightroom and Bridge installed as well.
So far only bothered the photoshop, when I have finished the work, and do shift-S-command, I must remove manually whatever was in Save as:  where as before that stuff was deleted auto.  Or did I miss a setting?
Things seem to be quicker this time to save, than before....
1000 Danke again.

It is seriously wrong that Adobe is not supporting those of us who bought the full Adobe CS6 suite for a very high price.  I expect updates to CS6 to allow it to run properly under Mac OS 10.15.  Instead there are no updates and even the present release of Adobe CC does not run properly.  Very poor support for the professional community.

Yes Photo shop 17 has some issues, try Photo shop 19 on Mac. It runs smoothly, but you need to know that their are other changes as well. If you are too comfortable using 17 then you should send your logs to the developers and they might find a solution for your problem.
