locked background layer is not locked, can be deleted

In CS6 the background layer has a locked symbol (as it should) but is deleted when backspace or delete is pressed with no warning. A layer that has been locked cannot be deleted (as it should).

Please see the »Lock all«-icon, which is different.
The lock on the Background Layer corresponds to »Lock transparent pixels« and »Lock Position«, I guess, after all I would expect to be able to paint on it for example.

I could have sworn the behaviour was different in CS5 - but it seems I'm on the crazy pills!

An optional warning might be nice, I guess (one with a »Never show again«-checkbox).
