Pat. Not quite sure I understand your question, but here are a few thoughts
1. Pictures are never stored in or on Photoshop. So the pictures would be wherever you placed them on your hard drive..
2. Do you know which file format you stored the pictures: jpeg or jpg, tiff, psd? You might consider doing a search of your hard drive for that file format. To my knowledge, all photoshop historical file formats are readable with modern Photoshop as well as many other programs.
